Welcome to the official website of Alaska's Last Frontier Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), a local industry association serving the needs of construction financial professionals across Alaska. So whether an accountant, comptroller, CFO, surety broker, IT support, or anyone else with a vested interest in construction financial management, we are always looking for new members.
Our chapter has grown more rapidly than a typical CFMA chapter starting out, from 16 original members just four years ago to 55 this year. We have developed educational courses, an educational tract at the annual AGC Conference, a scholarship fund at UAA, and opened up our construction job sites for tours. Our chapter has earned 17 CFMA national awards and we continue to surpass our goals every year. This is a direct result of the commitment and energy our members bring to our chapter and the immeasurable support from our Board.
Chapter members are once again assisting the UAA Construction Management Program this year, bringing knowledge and experience to the up and coming construction professionals. For those interested in getting involved, please contact Chapter Administrator at alaska@cfma.org.
An Endowment Fund was established in 2010 with the University of Alaska Foundation in order to provide scholarships to degree-seeking students enrolled in the UAA Construction Management Program. The Chapter met 50% of it's 3-year goal by December 31, 2010, with over $50,000 in total commitments.
